Pas Claim Rubbished – Ku Li
GUA MUSANG 3 Nov. – Barisan Nasional Galas by-election director Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has rubbished claims by PAS that he or the coalition had bought votes to ensure a win.
He said if that was true, he would have won Kelantan for Barisan 20 years ago.
“We could have also won Kedah, Selangor, Perak, Penang and even Galas (in the last general election) if we bought votes.
“It will be impossible for PAS to win if I bought votes,” he told a press conference after chairing the Barisan election machinery meeting here yesterday.
Tengku Razaleigh, better known as Ku Li, was commenting on claims by PAS that he had bought votes during the Galas by-election.
PAS national election director Datuk Abdul Halim Abdul Rahman had alleged that the Gua Musang MP had paid voters to ensure their support.
Tengku Razaleigh said the claims reflected the desperation of PAS.
“I have reminded members of our election machinery not to even give food to voters on polling day as it is against election regulations,” he added.
Ku Li said if Barisan won, it would mean that Malays in Galas supported the struggle of Umno and Barisan for the people.
