Najib Urges Muslims To Learn Quran Through Smartphone Applications
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has urged Muslims to learn the teachings of the Quran which has now been made easy through the smartphone applications.
Najib said this in his update on his Facebook page today in conjunction with Nuzul Qur’an (commemoration of the revelation of the Holy Quran) that falls on the 17th day of Ramadan each year.
He said the Quran was not only a guidance for one’s religious faith and observance, but also in every aspect of human life.
“In conjunciton with Nuzul Al-Quran on the 17th of Ramadan, I hope that all Muslims in Malaysia will take this opportunity to imbibe the teachings of the Holy Quran.
“More so in this era of information technology where such facilities like the Internet and smartphone applications are available to make learning the Quran even much easier,” he said.
Muslims in the states of Kelantan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Selangor and Terengganu are having a public holiday today to commemorate the auspicious religious occasion of Nuzul Quran.
