Diverse Culture And Religion Provide Malaysia’s Strength
LONDON, Sept 11 – Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the diverse culture and religion of the various communities in the country formed Malaysia’s strength as a multi-racial nation.
As such, he said, this strength should be utilised as an opportunity for Malaysia to continue to progress instead of becoming a hindrance in achieving further success.
He said the mutual respect between the people of various races and religions enabled the culture of each race to grow and had now been accepted as part of the country’s heritage.
“This shows that the differences in culture and religion in the country has never hindered the people from enjoying peace and harmony.
“In fact, this cultural diversity has been our pride which we demonstrate to the world community,” he said when launching the Merdeka Carnival 2011 at the Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre (TARRC), Brickendonbury, here.
