Physical, Spiritual Development Should Be Balanced
KLANG, Sept 21 – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin said the country’s prosperity will continue if physical and spiritual development is balanced.
He said physical development is important for economic growth while spiritual development will make the people resilient, disciplined and morally strong.
“The people must have high resilience to strengthen the national economy,” he said at a royal banquet at Istana Alam Shah here tonight to mark his three-day official visit to Selangor.
Also present were the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah and the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim were also present.
He said to ensure that Malaysia could continue with the development agenda, the people need to strengthen stability, harmony and solidarity.
“Without stability and harmony, hardship will be felt by all regardless of age, race and religion,” he added.
