KUIN Campus Cannot Be Credited To Pas
POKOK SENA, Sept 25 – The building of the Insaniah University College (Kuin) campus in Kuala Ketil cannot be credited to the present PAS-led Kedah government because it was originally a Barisan Nasional (BN) plan, said Kedah Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md
“We set up Kuin and planned to build the new campus but couldn’t when we lost in the last (2008) general election. It is not the success of the present Kedah government as what (Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri) Azizan (Abdul Razak) is talking about.
“It’s not their success because they borrowed money to build it. Anyone can do that. I understand the loan was RM350 million.
“It’s a burden to the people as they will end up paying for it,” he said after launching the Pokok Sena Cooperative mini carnival and opening the Bukit Lada Multipurpose Cooperative building, here, today.
Ahmad Bashah was commenting on Azizan’s statement about the Kedah PAS-led government not owing the federal government any money and having built the Kuin campus with proceeds from its logging ventures.
He also raised the question of the RM100-million federal government allocated to Kedah for road works, saying roads in the state were still in bad condition.
