Younger Generation Urged To Appreciate, Respect Present, Past Leaders
LEDANG, Sept 18 – The younger generation should not forget to appreciate and respect current and past leaders to ensure the country continues
to progress abreast with other countries.
UMNO deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said in the absence of such values, it showed as if the younger generation was unappreciative of the government and did not value the sacrifices made by the leaders.
“Without the leaders, the country would not have developed to what it is today.
“As such, the younger generation needs to respect and appreciate them for their contributions to the country,” he said when opening a Leader with the
People session organised by the Pagoh UMNO division at Dewan Geliga in Grisek here today.
Apart from that, Muhyiddin, who is also Pagoh MP, said the people should be wise to evaluate before joining any assembly as it might carry certain agenda and made to look like a platform voicing the people’s aspirations.
“Thus, it is important for us now to cooperate and unite to develop the nation together,” said the former deputy prime minister.
Meanwhile, when opening a meeting with the Chinese community at the Poh Ling Diang Temple in Pagoh, Muhyiddin again stressed the importance of understanding among the races.
